This is a short list of a few examples of the many resources that a teacher can use in the classroom.
Kahoot- Kahoot is a website that allows for a teacher to place questions inside of it and gives the teacher a specific code that is in junction with the quiz they have made. The students then use their phone to log in to Kahoot and use the specific code to take the quiz. The quiz is set up like a game and records right and wrong answers so to see who the winner of the game is in the classroom. Great resource because it appeals to the competitive side of students and gets them excited to learn.
SMART BOARD- SMART board is an interactive white board where a teacher can bring something up on the internet to show and actually draw on it while it shows. Teacher can also can use as a regular whiteboard.
Textbooks- Textbooks are the oldest and most common resource in a school. They are created mainly by textbook companies with the help of each individual state. They provide a comprehensive knowledge of a subject.
Overhead Projector- An overhead projector is a machine that uses light to show a piece of paper in a wider viewer projected on to a wall or board in the classroom.
Museums- Field trips to museums allow for students and teachers to take learning outside the classroom. Students are exposed to real life examples (not just pictures in textbooks) of historical figures and events that are displayed in museums. Museums may also have programs developed for classes that allow students to take a hands-on approach to learning by pretending they are historians, archaeologists, and/or explorers.
Internet- the internet gives a teacher an almost unlimited amount of resources to use in the classroom. You can watch videos, read text, research, and is great for all learning styles.
Students- Students are the ultimate educational resource in the classroom. Each student is different and these differences will help all others to form an opinion and to intelligently discuss matters of the past, present, and future world.
I have also included a link to a blog I found that is used by teachers to connect with other educators. In this blog post, a teacher lists ten high quality technological resources that a teacher can use in a classroom and even gives a short description of the resource. I put this on here because I truly believe that education is on the path to a majority of teachers around the country using technology every day to teach. I believe this is happening because school boards and teachers realize that technology is a way to engage and motivate student's to learn because of the boom of use of tecnology by young people. marketbrief.edweek.org/the-startup-blog/10_top_edtech_tools_suggested_by_the_pros/
