In my path to becoming an educator I have come across many different forms of teaching strategies that not only make learning fun but help students come to a true understanding of the material. I will continue to build upon the strategies I already am familiar with, while at the same time learning new and exciting strategies to incorporate into a Social Sciences classroom. I have a downloadable file included that list's some of my favorite teaching strategies that I have composed into five different sections. I would like to share this chart to any other prospective teacher and to show any future employer my knowledge of strategies and how they are best used. The five sections are as follows: (1) Teaching strategies that can be used in a Social Sciences classroom. (2) Teaching strategies that can be used as an assessment. (3) Teaching strategies that reinforce literacy in the classroom. (4) Teaching strategies that can be used to review previously learned material, and (5) Teaching strategies that can motivate a variety of learners in every classroom. This chart provides a short description of each strategy and when and where to best use one in a unit or lesson.
